Asia is a large continent, unlike any other, and there are lots of countries to explore if you should wish to take an Asia vacation. Whether you want to see Asian cities or rural locales, mountains or rainforests, ports, historic landmarks, or take part in activities as diverse as skiing or gambling, you can find an Asia vacation package just right for you, or you can design your own Asian travel plans.

Japan--Here, in one of the most visited Asian countries, you can find all kinds of activities for everyone in the family. You can spend your winter holidays skiing or snowboarding in the Japanese Alps. Or, you could visit Mt. Fuji, a volcanic mountain that is over 12,000 feet high. Japan has modern cities to visit, such as its capital, Tokyo, which has all the art museums, historical landmarks, gardens, entertainment, dining and shopping that you would expect to find in any contemporary city. You can even visit the Imperial Palace. For many Americans, their Asia vacation leads them to Hiroshima, where they can pay their respects to those who gave their lives there in World War II.
India--When many people think of India, they think of a country of poverty. This is certainly true in some areas, but India also has its wealthy and its share of popular culture. An Asia vacation to India can be full of medieval buildings and historic landmarks--India can boast as being one of the oldest civilizations in the world. New Delhi, the Indian capital with a population of around thirteen million people, is a place that most people want to see while in India. It is a city of both the old and the new with bazaars, marketplaces, fine dining, museums, and plenty of traditional events. Some people travel to India especially to go to Dharamsala to see the exiled Dalai Lama, who makes public appearances daily.
An Asia vacation can take on many different qualities depending on where you decide to travel. Singapore welcomes tourists, who can visit its historic landmarks or modern shops and buildings. Places like Chinatown and Little India still offer diverse marketplaces where you can buy just about anything. Taiwan is another popular Asia vacation destination. The city of Taipei is a popular tourist site with lots of history to explore.
China, Malaysia, and Thailand are all near the top of Asia vacation lists. Festivals and local markets attract many as do historical buildings, large marketplaces, old and modern cities. In recent years, Vietnam and Cambodia have become popular vacation spots. Vietnam tourism is very active advertising beaches, resorts, golf courses and casinos. Many people choose to explore these countries by bicycle or by paddling a kayak past small villages that now seem quite picturesque.
